But I Am Tired.

But I am Tired
Eyelids heavy
The poet awakes
But I am tired.
My arms stretch, fingers taught
Reach much, beholden pen
But I am tired.
Reaching back, into longing
I hold all the words in-between
Some want to linger on the page
But I am tired.
Turn the light on
Submerged in the deep
Elemental healing begins again
But I am tired.
Shone within, released
What is it you seek?
To awake while I dream
May moonlight cut through
In me and into you
